NSW Public Schools State Drama Festival

The NSW Public Schools State Drama Festival is a showcase of the best devised drama work from schools across the state.

State Drama FestivalThe festival celebrates classroom drama achievements of students in Years K-12. This event is a two day celebration of Drama works showcasing strong Drama outcomes in classrooms from across the state. Over 800 students participate in a range of dramatic styles.

   (designed especially for school groups, must be accompanied by a teacher)

Evening performances
  Thursday 24 October @ 7:30pm
   Friday 25 October @ 7:30pm

Festival WorkshopsNIDA DRAMA WORKSHOPS FOR STUDENTS
To accompany the 2019 State Drama Festival, The Arts Unit will run specialist Drama workshops led by professional practitioners from Festival partners, NIDA.

SCHOOL PARTICIPATION FEE
A participation fee of $100 per school will be direct debited to schools after the State Drama Festival.


RURAL AND REMOTE SUBSIDY:
In 2019 as part of The Arts Unit's support of the Department of Education's
Rural and Remote Education blueprint for action, we are excited to be able to offer
a State Drama Festival Participation Subsidy.

We are offering 5 x $1000 grants to to rural and remote schools Festival Rehearsal
(follow the link and download complete list, column AH shows rural and remote status)

This subsidy may be used to support your school in bringing an audience to the State Drama Festival performances and may be used towards tickets, NIDA Festival workshops and any associated travel and accommodation costs.  We would love to assist rural and remote schools in accessing the State Drama Festival to experience live performance.  Please apply if you are eligible:
