The Plain English Speaking Award Entry Form

Entry in this competition is open to NSW government and non-government secondary students who were aged between 15 and 18 years old (inclusive) on 1 January 2019. The deadline for submitting entries in this year's competition is Thursday 21 March 2019. If you have any problems with the entry form or if you have any questions about the competition, please don't hesitate to call the Speaking Competitions Officer on (02) 8512 1172.

Please note that entry fees are $28.00 (including GST) per government school student and $56.00 (including GST) per non-government school student. The fees will be debited from government school accounts in due course using the Sundry Tax Invoice Statement process, so please advise the relevant person in your school's office that this will occur. Offices at non-government schools will receive a tax invoice from the NSW Department of Education once entries close. Finally note that schools submitting an entry form must pay the fee even if they subsequently withdraw from the competition.

If your school does not appear in the above list, please contact us at (02) 8512 1171 and we will be happy to assist with your entry.

Local finals can be held in school halls, libraries or double rooms, and generally take around three hours. Hosting a final provides an excellent opportunity for your students to observe advanced public speaking in their own school. Please indicate if you are happy to be contacted about hosting a final in this competition.
By submitting this form, I acknowledge I have permission from the school principal, and that my school will be charged the appropriate entry fee for this submission. The Arts Unit Privacy Policy
