Festival of Instrumental Music

The Festival of Instrumental Music presents concerts of diverse and challenging repertoire, as well as some specially commissioned works by Australian composers, at prestigious Sydney venues.

In 2020, six concerts will be presented at the Sydney Town Hall.
 

Acacia Concert: Monday 29 June 2020, 7pm

Banksia Concert: Tuesday 30 June 2020, 7pm

Jacaranda Concert: Wednesday 1 July 2020, 7pm

Lillipilli Concert: Monday 17 August 2020, 7pm

Mimosa Concert: Tuesday 18 August 2020, 7pm
 
Waratah Concert: Monday 24 August 2020, 7pm

Applications open on Monday 14 October and close on Friday 6 December 2019.

Instrumental and Vocal Individual Items for the Festivals 

All primary and secondary schools are encouraged to submit outstanding music groups or soloists for inclusion in Music Festivals. The item(s) may be vocal or instrumental, small or large - e.g. a soloist, string quartet, concert band, percussion ensemble or vocal group. 
 
 
 
Applications for individual instrumental and vocal items open on Monday 30 March 2020, and close on Friday 1 May 2020.
