Festival of Instrumental Music

The Festival of Instrumental Music presents four concerts of diverse and challenging repertoire, as well as some specially commissioned works by Australian composers, at the Sydney Opera House.  

In 2017, four concerts will be presented in the Concert Hall of the Sydney Opera House.
 

The Acacia Concert: Monday 31 July, 7pm

The Banksia Concert: Tuesday 1 August, 7pm

The Jacaranda Concert: Tuesday 5 September, 7pm

The Mimosa Concert: Wednesday 6 September, 7pm

Applications for the 2017 Festival of Instrumental Music are now CLOSED.
 
Soloist Applications
 
In 2017 we will feature two soloists - a treble recorder player in Krasniye Saposhki and vocal soloist in Six Ribbons. Soloist applications are now closed.

Instrumental and Vocal Items for the Festival 

All primary and secondary schools are encouraged to submit outstanding music groups or soloists for inclusion in Music Festivals. The item(s) may be vocal or instrumental, small or large - e.g. a soloist, string quartet, concert band, percussion ensemble or vocal group. More information on how to apply.
