Festival of Instrumental Music

The NSW Department of Education will present 5 concerts of diverse and challenging repertoire, as well as some specially commissioned works by Australian composers, at the Sydney Town Hall.

2021 Festival of Instrumental Music concert dates at the Sydney Town Hall 
  • Acacia Concert: Monday 6 September 2021 7 pm 
  • Banksia Concert: Tuesday 7 September 2021 7 pm 
  • Jacaranda Concert: Wednesday 8 September 2021 7 pm 
  • Lillipilli Concert: Thursday 9 September 2021 7 pm 
  • Mimosa Concert: Friday 10 September 2021 7pm

Please be aware that the continuation of the Festival of Instrumental Music in 2021 will be contingent on advice provided by the Department of Education in consultation with NSW Health and can change at short notice

Instrumental and vocal individual items

There are limited opportunities for outstanding music groups or soloists to perform in the music festivals in 2021. The item(s) may be vocal or instrumental - e.g. a soloist, small instrumental or vocal group. Applications will close on Friday 11 June.
