The State Wind Bands provide an opportunity for talented music students in NSW public schools to perform in a state ensemble under the direction of professional conductors. State bands perform repertoire chosen to challenge and extend students' musical skills. Up to 65 students from across New South Wales will be selected for each ensemble.
In 2021, one band will be formed through online audition process. Students from Years 5 to Year 12 are eligible to apply. A minimum standard of Grade 5 is required.
All applications in 2021 are required to submit a video audition. You must submit 2 contrasting pieces (maximum 2 minutes), one fast tempo, one slow tempo.
