How to get involved 

Enter the composition competition

Any student in Australia is encouraged to write a melody and submit into this competition. If your melody is selected it will be written into a song and performed by jazz bands at the International Jazz Day Concert at the Sydney Opera House on 30 April, 2019.

Participate in a virtual excursion with James Morrison on the 12 NovemberJames Morrison with Trumpet

James will provide tips and advice on composing a song and will answer questions submitted prior to the excursion by students.

Enter the band competition Sting and Herbie performing

The successful band will perform the song created from the winning composition competition entry at the International Jazz Day Concert

Entries Due 1 March more information and online entry form (LINK)

 

 

 

Participate in a virtual excursion with the arranger of the winning song on the TBC

The arranger will explain the process of using the winning melody and writing a full composition. Tips on performing the piece and ??/ (MORE ??)
