Student Drama Workshops

The commencement of the 2021 Drama programs will be contingent on advice provided by the NSW Department of Education in consultation with NSW Health.

Activities for all programs currently have to adhere to current DoE COVID-19 restrictions. Link to Department of Education latest information on COVID-19.

The Arts Unit provides a range of workshops for students in NSW public schools from Years 3-12.

Skills Development Workshops

Skills Development Workshop

The Skills Development Workshops are one day workshops open to students from years 3-12 and led by tutors from the performing arts industry. The workshops teach skills such as: Physical Theatre; Puppetry; Improvisation; Acting; Characterisation; Voice & Accent; and Audition Technique.

Primary Drama Workshops with ATYP

The Arts Unit in collaboration with Australian Theatre for Young People are excited to present a series of Primary Drama Workshops for interested primary students from Year 3  - 6. All workshops will be led by specialist tutors from Australian Theatre for Young People (ATYP). 



Multicultural Playwright Program

The Multicultural Playwright Program supports students from refugee or non-English speaking backgrounds by sharing their stories in a forum that develops English literacy and drama skills. The program is suitable for students from years 7-11 and the stories will be developed through a series of workshops and presented through a performance showcase.

Aboriginal Drama Workshop

The Aboriginal Drama Program is a 4 day workshop and performance run by The Arts Unit in collaboration with Aboriginal performing artists. During the workshops students will develop their skills using traditional storytelling techniques and to perform stories based on their cultural heritage. The workshop activities culminate in a short performance to a young Aboriginal audience.
