NSW Public Schools Dance Ensembles

The NSW Public Schools State Dance Ensembles aim to foster the development of talented dance students and provide performance opportunities that showcase excellence in this art form. The Ensembles play a major role in high profile events held across NSW and feature in the State Dance Festival and the Schools Spectacular.

NSW Public Schools Weekly Dance Ensembles

Weekly Dance Ensembles are for students in Years 4-12 who CAN attend a weekly rehearsal held after school hours at AMPA Studios The Village, Alexandria during school term. The selection group of talented students will perform at the State Dance Festival and Schools Spectacular.
Applications to the 2019 Weekly Dance Ensembles open in September.

NSW Public Schools State Dance Ensembles

The State Dance Ensemble provides students in Years 7-12 who CANNOT attend weekly rehearsals in Sydney, the opportunity to participate in a high quality, auditioned dance ensemble. Students come together for 4 weekend workshops throughout the year and will perform at the State Dance Festival and Schools Spectacular.
Applications for the 2019 State Dance Ensembles will open in September. 

NSW Public Schools Aboriginal Dance Company

The Aboriginal Dance Company aims to develop the dance skills and cultural awareness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in the style of contemporary Indigenous dance. The initiative is a partnership with the world renowned Australian dance company Bangarra Dance Theatre, enabling students to work with leading dancers and choreographers to recreate works from Bangarra Dance Theatre’s repertoire. 

NSW Public Schools Urban Dance Crew

The Urban Dance Crew is comprised of boys from Years 9-12 who excel in the dance style of hip hop. Working with outstanding industry professionals, students audition through the Schools Spectacular Featured Dancer auditions. 
Online applications close 20 March.
Regional and Sydney workshops are also held for boys in Yrs 6-8.
