Learning intentions

Firebird Forensics is a dance resource designed for students in Stages 4 and 5. Students will use a stimulus as a starting point for dance composition and explore the elements of dance to communicate the idea of a Firebird.  

Your students will:

  • explore the elements of dance in relation to a stimulus
  • improvise by manipulating movement using a range of compositional tools
  • refine movement to communicate an idea
  • create a phrase of movement that is reflective of their own personal style
  • compose and perform their movement sequence
  • ‍reflect on their composition.
