The State Choir program provides an opportunity for dedicated and talented choristers to sing challenging repertoire with some of Australia’s leading choral directors. The choirs are open to all government school students Years 8-12 and are a combination of male and female voices. No audition is required.
Music is sent to students to prepare before the first rehearsal. The choir meets to rehearse in Sydney for two days before performing on the concert hall stage of the Sydney Opera House as part of the Festival of Choral Music.
Teachers are encouraged to nominate individual students to participate with 80 other highly skilled singers from throughout NSW.
